Thursday

Lecture marathon day again. Stayed back in school to finish up my Molecular Genetics report. Left school at around 9pm.

Friday

Argh, missed Marketing lecture today ! Well, overslept due to the the irritating alarm clock that rang for more than half and hour (think it's my aunt's). So I woke up late and headed down to school for my MolGen practical.

But before that, went to the design block printing shop and queued for like 10 to 15 minutes when there's only one people in front of me -.-''' And the worst thing is... he didn't print a single thing! He was spending the time searching for his missing file inside his PSP, keep typing the file name and keep checking the few files -.-''' No comments.

So I was late for my practical. Went in and hear the briefing by Ms Leong and after that, went around viewing the slides. Lol, and surprisingly, we managed to see quite a lot of male C.Elegans. Wahaha~

Anyway, the Bioinformatics teacher revision was pretty good (guess she's out of her wonderland), managed to understand the things that she taught which I don't understand. Not to say her style changed a bit... keep walking around and finally used her mouse as a pointer. Keep it up =)

After that, stayed back in school to do the Drosophila things. Well, it's not as easy as it seems; ; literally spent the whole night breeding "flies" (bracket because it's and online programme). Left the school at 10 plus close to 11pm.

Think that there will be more of this staying-in-school thingy going on for the following week.

Saturday

Porridge-selling day. Don't really have a lot of business, so my brain is kinda occupied with the flies... this phenotype and that phenotype... blah blah blah.

Well, after that, did do much for the day. It's kinda like my style to slack at weekends and work at weekday (the 5 day work thingy), but sometimes things just had to be done on the weekend.

Anyway, suddenly think of a song that I played in arcade (actually, it's part of the song). But I particularly like this tune, which is "Flight of the bumblebee".

 

Sunday

Same old thing. But my plan for running was interrupted because my ah ma bought the kway chap for me (where my initial plan is to eat after running). So ended up that I did not run today -.-''' Maybe I can do it on friday?

Anyway, slacked at home. Guess that the few long days in school makes me really feel like staying at home. Come to think of it, I did do something. Researched on the Biostatistics project. May have a few doubts that I may need to clear with the teacher.

Anyway, met up with Pei Ying to have "dinner" at MacDonald which is around 2230? Hmmm, guess I will foresee quite a packed week... quiz, report, tutorial, project and revision. I guess this 5 words summarises all.

Stressy and Messy

Aiyaya, notes, books and paper everywhere. On the bed... on the floor... on the chair. My room is in a mess now. Anyway, I'm here for another update after finishing my tutorial (got a pretty nice figures too).

Well well, where should I start?

First lesson of the day is a practical session with the 03s. So when Ms Diong ask for volunteers for the protein G thingy, my immediate reaction: take cover. So I shrank myself as soon as she finishes the sentence.

But this doesn't seem to work. A guy from the same bench as me (if I'm not wrong, he's call Jonathan) came and ask me if I'm interested to do the thingy, so I agreed. And as soon as I agree, I heard the good and bad news.

Good news: no need to do report for that experiment.

Bad news: need to do a verbal "presentation" for the experiment next week (which is my weakness!) and will be assess based on that.

Argh, now I'm so tensed up; thinking what to do for next week. Not forgetting the reports, projects and presentation that is stacking up (ah, and tutorial). Anyway, I'll try to sink the protein G thingy into my brain by hook (memorizing) or by crook (burn it, mix with water and drink) and will try to take it as a "warm-up" for the Molecular Genetics presentation that is also coming up.

Stayed back in school for awhile after the attachment talk before heading to Braddell Mac to meet Pei Ying to finish up my report (but I'm still not done yet, left introduction).

Anyway, after looking at the paper (and the choices) the lecturer gave us, I did a bit of research on it, but I still could not make up my mind (and I'm left with like a day to make this "life changing" choice). In short, I don't know what my interest lies... who knows... maybe I'll selling porridge in the future (am I having this thought more and more often?).

For now, I'll let my mind rest for a little while.

For as much as I can recall, there's nothing much for the day. Been blur for the protein technology practical since I was slightly late and the teacher started the briefing already.

Went home and suddenly did some origami, which is one of those things that I did in my secondary school days. Been quite awhile since I last did it, so I decided to fold what I always used to fold, an electra:

Hehe, this thingy took me like one hour plus to complete it, since it's make up of 30 same unit joined together (without glue or any sticky thing you could think of) and folding each of them took around one and a half minute =S Not bad ah?

Thursday

Ah, lecture marathon day. 5 continuous hours of lecture and lots of information flowing in (and out) to my tiny brain. Think that I have master the art of sticking my butt to the chair already. Lol~

Friday

Hmmm, stayed back in school for the further studies talk. But before that, went over to AMK's Mos Burger to have dinner with Kenny, Jia Qi, Bei Si, Sharon, Chi Ying and Fiona (Did I miss anyone?) and rushed back to school (and was kinda late for the talk).

Anyway, the talk is interesting. Lol, kinda motivate me a bit to study harder and think about the future. Zzz... but every time I think about further studies (especially overseas studies), I will think about my ah ma's stall. Who will help her during the weekend? My uncle won't (he can almost celebrate his one year aniversary of not working), though he used to sell the porridge at night. Hmmm, maybe I'm thinking too much already.

Zzz... let me continue anyway, after the talk, headed to the bus stop and took a bus to Toa Payoh and walked to Braddell Mac to meet Pei Ying for study. But she ended up late (for a hour), so I walked around the area quite a fair bit. Anyway, still managed to do some things during the few hours of study.

Not enough sleep. Was rushing the report till 3am and had to wake up at 7 plus to go help my ah ma. Zzz... the day didn't end there. Around evening time, I traveled down to Changi Airport to fetch Jia Ming (who returned from Thailand) and headed to Fish & Co. for our dinner. Here's what we ate:

A main course for each of us and a seafood platter for two. Lol, think that we sat there for like almost 2 hours plus, approaching 3. Haha, after that, I ordered a cake (Key Lime), and it's super sour especially after eating the whipped cream part. And guess what? I treated him this meal and it cost me 100 bucks (there goes the money). Lol~ guess that I can also be a spendthrift once in awhile?

Anyway, cabbed down to his house and stayed for awhile, did some trying and stuff and headed to meet James to pass him his souvenir. That was pretty much for the day.

Sunday

Same old stuff, except that my ah ma give me a verbal description of the amount of ingredient to put, to make the "special" soy sauce. Seriously think she's going to pass the business to me someday -.-'''

Well, there's pros and cons you see... I'll be stuck here if I took over. No break except for resting day and chinese new year (which means 300 plus of working days...). Well, who knows? Maybe I will go "attachment" at her place during the next holiday to learn a or two (selling porridge isn't that bad also) .

Anyway, went for a jog-turned-brisk walking at MacRitchie reservoir since mud were splatted all over my calf when I jog and it's a bit slippery at certain part. Well, always good to have some time to yourself. Here's a picture:

Well, hopefully I can maintain and make it into a weekly thingy (even hiking will be fun), if not my "united nation" will be growing bigger and bigger.

After the run, headed home for a shower and headed to the saloon to cut my hair. Hmmm, kinda relieved that my hair was not cut by the guys there, but one of the owner (I think, since she's not in uniform). Kinda like it, since she's pretty much into the "details" trimming here and there, and getting the "right" length and stuff. I would go there to cut again if she's the one that cut for me, lol~

Haha, not bad ah? At least there's a difference from the old hairstyle (and a different feel). Was pretty enthu about it. Things seem to be "brighter" in a way. Even the songs they played at NTUC sounded cheerful (the next song played is "Killing Me Softly With His Songs", and it didn't kill me, lol~)

Met up with Jia Ming at night and had dinner with him before he went back to camp. That's pretty much for the day.

Monday

Woke up in the morning, bathed and decided to go back to sleep again. So I officially skipped school for the first time (this semester). Well, it's hard to explain. It's just one of the day where there's no motivation and maybe partly due to the cumulative tiredness from the past few days (Slept at almost 3am everyday and woke up at 7 plus).

So I fell back to sleep and woke up at 2 plus pm (which I'm supposed to be in Biostatistic lecture). I'll try not to skip again =S

Met up with James for dinner at Lorong 5 market and headed to the arcade (myself), and played for one full hour of drum (it's kinda like a weekly activity too)~

Tuesday

Woke up early, energised and ready to start my work. So I did my biostatistics tutorial and a bit of the report.
Took a shower and headed for school for practical.

Haha, from the reaction of the people, think that my hairstyle is not bad lah, still acceptable. Have this "fresh" feeling, though I still getting use to it.

After lesson, stayed in school with ST and did my report for protein technology. For some reasons, my report seldom hit 4 or 5 pages. On average, around 2 to 3. Haha, maybe I too summarized liao.

Anyway. stayed in school until 9 plus and discuss (and chatted) quite a bit.

Recently, I've been reading this book: YOU Being beautiful (okay, I know I a bit hiao lah). This book is quite interesting, it is fill with information (written in a witty way) which makes it easily to understand. Here's an illustration about the UV light:

Hey~ Been a week since I last updated my blog. Zzz... you know, the lazy cycle. Anyway, I'm going to start from where I left off.

Wednesday

Hmmm, stayed in school for quite a long while since we were doing the Bioprocess Technology practical and we need to take hourly sample of it starting from 9am. So, we kinda had a shift system and my shifts are 4pm and 5pm. Well, the practical was quite fun (in a way), well... maybe more of interesting. Got something to do with some fluorescent stuff that you can see under the UV light. Here's some pictures taken during my shift:

Haha, cool ah? Don't ask me anything chim about it. Cause most likely, I can't answer it too =P Haha. Anyway, after the school thingy. Meet up with Pei Ying for dinner at MosBurger. After that, she left for her clubbing whereas I headed for home.

But on second thought, I U-turned and headed to the arcade to "enjoy" the last few hours of 19 years. Always had fun playing arcade, hehe, been such a long time since I last played. Especially with the stressful semester, arcade-ing is a good way for me to de-stress.

Other than that, I also thought about my life... the past, all the little little bad things that I did and some flashback. Hmmm, also don't know why.

Oh, did I say I received my first present from Shaun? Hehe, here's the thingy he got for me:

Hehe, cute eh? Thanks for the gift, appreciate it =) Well, ask me what I want and I can tell you that there's nothing I desire. How many times have you heard this; it's the thought that counts. That's what I really think.Since this is a 2010 calender, I will only be about to use it in another one or two months time.

Seeing the word "happy" makes me think that if I'm really that happy. Even though I maybe contented with what I have, but contentment is not equal to happiness. How can I live a life that's filled with a little more colours?

Thursday

Ah, it's my big day. Zzz... late for the Bioprocess Tech follow-up but was greeted with a whole lot of "happy birthdays", that's a good start to a day =) Thanks for the wishes from all the peeps. ST, for treating me a sausage dog, Jia Qi for the offer (sushi) and Chi Ying for the happy birthdays. Lol~

Well, the list goes on. If I had to type everything out, it would be like me receiving a Star Award where I can thanks people from earth to heaven. Haha.

So let me get on with my day. After school, meet up with the gang for dinner at Cafe Cartel. Here's the present they gave:

When I open the first gift (the long one), and I saw a T-shirt. The first thing I thought of is "oh shit, think they are going to smash something onto me." Anyway, the gifts were a T-shirt and a handphone.

So after the dinner, they ordered 2 cake (one chocolate and one tiramisu), and I had to take the candle holder (or whatever it is called) out of the cake (without the use of hand) -.-'''

Well, managed to dodge the first round of smashing, but the second one was a disaster. Managed to get a cake onto the floor (kinda pushed the plate, and the cake flew pass me) but James picked it up and just splat on my face -.-'''

Anyway, went to catch a movie; Halloween 2. Caught the first part, 2 years ago and managed to catch the sequel. Well, it wasn't a scary show but the peeps since to "set the mood right" with the sudden grabbing and hiding. Well, in short, it was an enjoyable day =X

What I have to do next? Reports, presentation thingy, tutorials... I better get started, if not I'll be crushed at this rate =X

By the way, sun screen was applied on the cover onto one half of the agar plate. And Sole (the brand) happens to be the best. No mutation or decrease in size, blah blah blah. Kinda like the style of Ms Leong's practical, quite different.*Random*

Anyway, some negative thoughts been on my mind, not to say some flashbacks. So, ignore me if I'm acting weird or something... you know, guys have their fair shares of mood-swing too. Hahaha.

Hey guys, back for another update. Haha, been a week since I last posted something. Hmmm, what can I say... the pace has been picking up ever since school started; lessons, practical, lecture and projects. Hmmm, did someone say this is going to be a tough semester?

Haha, anyway, I've been going out too for the last week, but I'm just kinda lazy to re-call all the details since I need to reduce the space of these so-called "mundane" thingy and increase the capacity for studies-related thingy (Kinda like doing a disk cleanup followed by a defragment to my brain). Well, rather than doing all the re-call for last week, why not talk about today? Hmmm, been kinda tired since the start of the day since I've been hanging out with James for lunch (yesterday). Well, that was what I thought. So I dressed super casually... you know, the kind where you won't kinda wear to go nearby places.

Anyway, after lunch, we headed down to Novena to do abit of walking and bought a pair of slippers for like $5 at Cotton On. But we did quite a bit of considering since it's stated there... "$5 with any purchase". So we thought that the first pair will cost normally ($10) and the second pair for $5. But in the end, it just cost $5. Lol~

After quite awhile of (window) shopping at Novena. We walked down to Orchard. Literally went to all the shopping malls (dress like %#%#@... I can only say that Aunty and Uncle dress better than me). Well, all I can say I'm pretty much adaptable after awhile. Next, we headed to visit Pei Ying who was working nearby. And in the end, waited for her to knock off and headed back to Tpy for supper with Jia Ming,

Eh... why am I talking about yesterday when I wanted to talk about today? Hmmm... nevermind. Well, lectures are going a more and more challenging especially with the simultaneous equation thingy. You have to like derive 10 or more simultaneous equation and substitute here and there. Zzz... maths = vital point. Hmmm, don't ever remembering myself doing maths questions confidently. Maybe I should learn to trust myself more?

On another note, been doing some adapting since I'm joining other classes for different modules. Well, one or two classes is still manageable. But 5 classes... maybe it will take a longer time (But, do I have time?). It's not like, I'm a chameleon or something. Hahaha~
